Where and when will we meet?

For participants arriving on Saturday, we will pick you up at the airport at your arrival time. It seems most are landing at around midday, so we will meet afterwards in the medina, I guess it will be in the Terrasses des Arts (for those, who arrived earlier). But we will have a WhatsApp Group, if you all are using the App.

What should I bring as camera gear?

Please bring only what your really need for your style of photography (filters, macro). Personally, I think, it is more about seeing and often, less is more. Otherwise, you’ll have to carry a lot during the day, and we have the opportunity to use gear we own or rent in Marrakech. So you won’t need a tripod. If you need that gear and you want to avoid paying extra luggage, feel free to ask if we can provide it.

Do we need to bring our computers to edit our photos?

Yes, that would be helpful. Also for saving your photos, making your choice and upload it to a cloud so we can do portfolio reviews, it will be good to have a computer.

Clothing?

During the night, it can get quite cold, and heatings are not common in Morocco, during the day it can get warm and sunny. So please be prepared for a wide range of temperatures and bring some hat as sun protection, if you prefer.

Important legal things to know?

Drones are not allowed in Morocco and it is important not to photograph policemen and parts of the kings palace. It may happen that you take a photograph in the medina (old town) and there may be civilian police officers showing up, asking you to show what you took a photo of. If they don’t like it, we will have to delete the photo. This might be the case, if they themselves are on the shot.

Which editing software do we prefer?

Youssef and myself, we usually work in Adobe Lightroom. If needed, we also use Photoshop and Capture One or plugins and tools for planning.
